The Fundy Trail Parkway is a 19 km driving trail that starts off just outside of the picturesque village of St. Martins, less than an hour from the City of Saint John. The parkway offers over 20 lookouts with stunning views, a beautiful 15-meter waterfall, 3 beaches, a 60-meter suspension bridge and several footpaths. Although being only 19 km long, you want to give yourself a full day to explore this trail. Stop by the interpretive center, buy a souvenir at the gift shop. The Fundy Trail is part of the Stonehammer Geopark, the UNESCO Fundy Biosphere Reserve, and the TransCanada Trail. The gateway community to the Fundy Parkway is the village of St. Martins. There, you can explore the sea caves, where you can truly witness the power of the Bay of Fundy’s tides. Walk inside the sea caves and explore at low tide, and watch as the tide rises and fills the caves with water. Photos and text by André Audet.
